Applicants booking a GAMCA or WAFID medical appointment may now see more than one appointment option during the online booking process. This can create confusion, especially for someone who simply wants to complete the medical test for a GCC visa without making the wrong selection.
The WAFID booking system currently displays Standard Appointment and Premium Appointment options. The official booking page describes the Standard option as a basic appointment scheduled according to availability, while the Premium option provides greater flexibility, including the ability to choose a preferred medical centre and appointment date. The displayed prices are currently $10 for Standard and $25 for Premium, although applicants should always confirm the amount shown on the official portal before payment.
A Standard Appointment is the basic WAFID booking option. You provide your appointment information, select the required location and destination details, enter your personal and passport information, and proceed through the booking and payment process.
The main advantage of Standard booking is simplicity. If you are flexible about the available appointment and do not specifically need control over the medical centre or date, this option may be sufficient.
For many applicants, there is no reason to pay for additional flexibility if the available appointment works with their visa and travel schedule.
Premium Appointment is designed for applicants who want more control over their booking. The current WAFID booking interface describes it as a flexible option that allows the applicant to choose a preferred medical centre and appointment date.
This can be useful when location is important. For example, an applicant may prefer a centre that is easier to reach from their home, workplace or temporary accommodation.
Premium booking can also be useful when an applicant has a strict visa-processing deadline and wants greater control over the appointment date.
There is no single answer for every applicant.
Choose Standard if:
- You are comfortable with the available appointment.
- You do not need to select a particular medical centre.
- You want the basic appointment option.
- Your travel schedule is flexible.
Consider Premium if:
- You want more control over the medical centre.
- You need greater flexibility with the appointment date.
- Travelling to an inconvenient centre would be difficult.
- Your visa or employment timeline makes appointment flexibility important.
The important point is that Premium does not mean a different medical examination. The medical screening itself remains subject to the applicable WAFID requirements and the approved medical centre's procedures.
Before completing the booking, carefully check your name, passport number, date of birth, nationality, destination country and other information. The official WAFID booking form asks applicants to confirm that the information submitted is accurate.
Also check the appointment type, price, selected location and appointment date before payment.
If you are unsure whether Premium is worthwhile, first consider how important the medical centre and appointment date are to you. Paying extra only makes sense when the additional flexibility solves a genuine problem.
Standard and Premium appointments are intended to provide different levels of booking flexibility. Standard may be suitable for applicants who simply need an available appointment, while Premium can be useful for applicants who want more control over the centre and date.
Always rely on the options and prices displayed on the official WAFID portal at the time you book, because online booking features and fees can change.
